Dr. Bingham previously served in the Navy. He was a flight surgeon assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. He served as the Chief of Dermatology, National Naval Medical Center, and was instrumental in the creation of the first Joint Dermatology Service as part of Joint Task Force Capital Medicine at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. He served as the Chief of Mohs Surgery for the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and as the Residency Program Director for the National Capital Consortium Dermatology Residency. Assignments also included Mohs Surgeon and Dermatologist for the Office of the Attending Physician and for the White House Medical Unit and Dermatology Consultant to the Department of Justice with focus on Global War on Terrorism detainee evaluations.
Dr. Bingham left active duty in 2014 and moved with his family to Great Falls, MT, where he has been in practice ever since. He is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Science, Bethesda, MD. He serves as a Trustee for the United States Naval Academy Foundation Athletics and Scholarship Program. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Montana Medical Association and is currently the President of the Montana Academy of Dermatology. Â
Dr. Bingham is the author of 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has given over 20 presentations at national and regional meetings. He has been recognized by the Skin Cancer Foundation and the American Academy of Dermatology as a subject matter expert for skin cancer in the military. He was selected twice by the residents of the National Capital Consortium Dermatology Residency as the Staff Teacher of the Year. He served as the healthcare industry lead facilitator for Governor Steve Bullock’s Reopen Montana COVID-19 Task Force. Â
He is currently serving as a Colonel in the Montana Air National Guard in the position of the State Air Surgeon assigned to Joint Force Headquarters, Fort Harrison, MT. Dr. Bingham is tremendously proud of his 34 years, and counting, of service to the U.S. Armed Forces.
